Terms of Service

In plain words

  • These terms are the contract for using Lamp and Spark.
  • Spark is in development, and its search needs no account. Lamp needs an account.
  • Lamp starts with a free trial, without a credit card. Pro and Max are subscriptions, paid monthly or yearly, that include credits each month. What each plan includes and costs is on the pricing page.
  • Credits pay for reports, chat and loading patent data. When they run out, chat and reports stop until you buy more or your monthly credits refill.
  • PayPro Global sells the plans as merchant of record. It takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles refunds.
  • Lamp's reports are generated by AI and can contain errors. They are not legal advice. Check every finding yourself.

This summary helps you find your way. The numbered sections below are the full text.

About these terms#

These terms are a contract between you and Individual Entrepreneur MIKHAIL KOZIN, Rezo Gabashvili Street N 1, Block B, Floor 8, Apt. N196, Gldani District, 0167 Tbilisi, Georgia (“MatGen”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you use Lamp at lamp.matgen.ai or Spark at spark.matgen.ai.

If you use Lamp for an organisation, you accept these terms on its behalf and confirm that you may do so.

The Acceptable Use Policy is part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

Consumers and businesses can both buy Lamp plans. Some rules below apply only to consumers; they say so.

Spark#

Spark’s search needs no account.

Spark is in development. Its data, features and availability can change at any time. Each result links to the paper it comes from: check the source before you rely on it.

Your Lamp account#

To use Lamp you need an account. Give us correct details when you register and keep them up to date.

Your account is for you alone. Keep your password secret and do not share your sign-in details. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else is using it, tell us straight away.

You must be at least 18 years old to open an account.

Plans and credits#

Plans. Lamp has three plans. The Trial is free for a limited time and needs no credit card. Pro and Max are subscriptions, paid monthly or yearly. What each plan includes, such as credits, patents, chat messages and reports at the same time, and what it costs are shown on the pricing page and at checkout before you pay.

When the trial ends, your account becomes read-only unless you choose Pro or Max.

Each plan has monthly limits on the patents you can work with and the chat messages you can send. When you reach one, Lamp stops that action until your monthly limits renew.

On Pro and Max, monthly or yearly, the monthly credits are refilled every 30 days, counted from your first payment. Unused monthly credits do not carry over.

Credit packs. You can buy extra credits in Lamp. The packs and their prices are shown on the pricing page and before you pay.

Credits you buy are used after your monthly credits. Bought credits do not expire.

What credits pay for. Reports, chat messages, and loading a patent’s full text, family and citations. When your credits run out, chat and reports stop until you buy a credit pack or your monthly credits refill.

Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred to another account.

Prices and payment#

Prices are in euros and exclude VAT.

PayPro Global sells Lamp plans and credit packs as merchant of record. It takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles refunds.

Pro and Max renew at the end of each month or year, as you chose, until you cancel. PayPro Global charges the first period when you order, and then each further period automatically. Lamp counts from the day of your first payment: every 30 days, your monthly credits are refilled.

If we change the price of Pro or Max, we tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before it changes. The new price applies from your first renewal after that. You can cancel before then. A credit pack costs the price shown when you buy it.

Cancelling and refunds#

The terms for buying a Lamp plan are added here before Lamp opens for purchases.

When your Pro or Max subscription ends, or its payments fail, your account becomes read-only. You can still read, download and export your sessions and reports, but you cannot search, chat, load patent data or run reports. Your remaining monthly and bought credits stay on the account, and you can use them again when you choose Pro or Max again.

AI output is not advice#

Lamp uses AI models to write chat answers and reports. Every report carries this notice:

This report is AI-generated and may contain errors. It does not constitute legal advice. Verify all findings independently.

Lamp checks quoted passages against the patent text and marks each one as verified or as quote not found. It marks patent numbers it could not verify. These checks do not catch every error.

You decide what to do with Lamp’s output, and you are responsible for that decision. For advice on a patent matter, consult a qualified professional. The AI use and disclaimer page has more detail.

Your content#

Your content is what you put into Lamp: search queries and chat messages, including text you paste into them. You keep all rights in it. You give us the right to use it only to provide Lamp to you, which includes sending it to the AI model providers described in the Privacy Policy.

Put only content you have the right to use into Lamp. If it contains personal data about other people, you must be allowed to share it with us.

You may use the reports Lamp generates for you for any purpose, including commercial use. We claim no rights in them.

If your organisation puts personal data about other people into Lamp, our Data Processing Agreement applies to that data.

Acceptable use and suspension#

Follow the Acceptable Use Policy. If you break it or these terms, we may limit, suspend or close your access. Unless the matter is urgent or the law prevents it, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

You can close your Lamp account at any time. In Lamp, open your profile, go to Privacy & data and choose Delete account. Lamp deletes the account 30 days later. If you log in again within those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled. What happens to your data after that is in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes#

We work to keep Lamp and Spark available and correct, but we do not promise that they are always available or free of errors. We may need to interrupt them for maintenance or security.

We improve Lamp and Spark over time, so features can change. If a change removes a feature you pay for, we tell you in advance.

Liability#

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Lamp and Spark are tools, and we provide them as they are. You decide how to use them and what to do with their output, and you are responsible for those decisions. We are not liable for a loss that comes from relying on a report, a chat answer or a search result.

We do not promise that Lamp or Spark are always available, and we are not liable for a loss caused by an interruption.

Keep your own copies of what matters to you: you can export your data from Lamp at any time. We are not liable for the loss of content stored in Lamp.

We are responsible for protecting your personal data, as the Privacy Policy describes.

In every case, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event. We are not liable for lost profit or indirect loss.

Changes to these terms#

We may update these terms when our services or the law change. If a change affects Lamp account holders, we tell them by e-mail at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect. The date and version at the top of this page show which version you are reading.

Law and disputes#

These terms are governed by the law of Georgia. The courts of Tbilisi decide disputes.

Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where they live, and may bring a claim there.
